The South Ghor region by the Dead Sea in Jordan, is currently being viewed as a backyard by Jordanians because many do not see the value in the agricultural land. There is a lack of fresh water availability and good social infrastructure such as schools, hospitals etc. Tomato, being the main agricultural produce in the Jordanian Ghor for decades, has lost its value due to many circumstances in the region, like the closing of borders in Iraq and Syria, where tomato exports to these countries or other locations that requires entering these borders have stopped.
